Firefox 3 launched today
by Walker Lindley
Today marks the launch of the latest and greatest version of the best web browser out there, Firefox. It has a new look and lots of great new features, so head over to their site and grab yourself a copy!
Update: Looks like there were over 1 million downloads in the first 4 hours. If you want to keep track of the current count (and really, who doesn’t?), this is a live updating website that has the total number of downloads and the number of downloads by country.

Yeah! Germany in second!
I downloaded, but I’m going to wait to install until I’m sure all my extensions work. What’s supposed to be so much better in this new version, anyway?

Much less memory usage, faster page loads, location bar (also known as the awesome bar), UIs that better match the OS style, built-in support for saving the state of webapps (like Google Gears, but built into Firefox instead of run by Google), etc.
