This, of course, is a normative judgment, for each species is unique and fascinating in its own way. Anyway humans are not inherently cute when they hug, while gibbons are fuzzy and therefore cute. You reminded me of this amazing book called "Our Inner Ape." It actually talks about Bonobos and how amazingly humanlike some of their characteristics are.
