Greetings Melonites,

I’d like to update everyone on a few things that are going on in Tacoma tomorrow but first, thank you to everyone that participated in the 9/11 narratives. Everyone produced some outstanding pieces that helped remember September 11th, 2001.

Onto business:

1. Episode 23 of the Frost Park Chalks Offs happens Friday at noon. Join some amazing Tacoma artists and amateurs alike, pick up the chalk of destiny and create for one hour. Then head over to feedtacoma.com and vote for your favorite. This week Councilmember Tim Farrell is sponsoring the victor, offering $50 worth of food and company.

Additionally, I filmed The Melon’s exclusive interview with 22nd Frost Park Champion, Elle, today and it went really well. Expect that to be online sometime next week.

2. Speak Your Soul’s monthly open mic is Friday at 8pm at the One Heart Cafe (1117 Broadway.) This week they’re featuring Antonio Edwards and as a special upcoming election bonus prize, Campaign for Change will be there helping people register to vote.

Speak Your Soul is still putting together their Tacoma Tribute poem, so if you haven’t already, get over to http://www.speakyoursoul.org/ and contribute a word or phrase to be included.
