Hill Watch: I Shot The Sheriff
by Electric Elliot
Thanks to some detective work by our friend over at KLAY, Frank Blair, The Melon has been informed that Robert “The Traveller” Hill has been placed back into police custody.
While there is no indication as to what exactly occurred on the date of the arrest, January 9th, 2009, the booking information lists four charges which include, failing to appear in court for driving without a license and public disturbance, as well as the displaying of a weapon and misdemeanor assault which alone has a $75,000 bail.
Things are not looking good for Mr. Hill, unless he can produce some more of his infamous gold coins.
The Melon will present more information as it becomes available.

here’s the scoop from the trib:
“My understanding is that they raised the bail on charges stemming from the incident at the courthouse where he allegedly pointed a fake gun at a security guard to $75,000 due to the Dec. 18 incident in Fife when Hill appeared to be trying to retrieve a realistic-looking pellet rifle with a hunting scope from a friend’s impounded car.”

I heard from Robert himself that he went to Fife to retrieve his laptop and some other belongings. He was told that the car was being sold at auction. Robert arrived at Fife towing aprox 30 minutes before the auction was to begin. He was then told the car had been sold already. He missed the court date because he was being detained on another matter. Robert has pissed alot of “Key” people off and is paying the price for it. Freedom of speech here in Tacoma is not allowed if you do not agree with our so called esteemed mayor.

First of all I am not a lawyer but I am inquiring about the following points.
I wonder why Mr. Hill has not been arraigned yet.Usually this occurs within 72 hours after arrest.
This is a right.

It seems as though the Sheriff’s Dept. is violating Mr. Hill’s rights by not arraigning him,by persecuting him with false charges and I believe that he is being criminally held against his will with unreasonable bail against the laws and Constitution of the United States of America.
Here from the U.S. Constitution
“Amendment 8 – Cruel and Unusual Punishment. Ratified 12/15/1791.
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.”
and from Federal Law
“Title 18, U.S.C., Section 242
Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law
This statute makes it a crime for any person acting under color of law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom to willfully deprive or cause to be deprived from any person those rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution and laws of the U.S.
This law further prohibits a person acting under color of law, statute, ordinance, regulation or custom to willfully subject or cause to be subjected any person to different punishments, pains, or penalties, than those prescribed for punishment of citizens on account of such person being an alien or by reason of his/her color or race.
Acts under “color of any law” include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the bounds or limits of their lawful authority, but also acts done without and beyond the bounds of their lawful authority; provided that, in order for unlawful acts of any official to be done under “color of any law,” the unlawful acts must be done while such official is purporting or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. This definition includes, in addition to law enforcement officials, individuals such as Mayors, Council persons, Judges, Nursing Home Proprietors, Security Guards, etc., persons who are bound by laws, statutes ordinances, or customs.
Punishment varies from a fine or imprisonment of up to one year, or both, and if bodily injury results or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire shall be fined or imprisoned up to ten years or both, and if death results, or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.”
I think that the ACLU should be contacted as I believe him to be a victim of a criminal local system.
