Interview with Jim Merritt – Tacoma Mayoral Candidate

Yup, Jim Merritt of Merritt Arch PLLC is running for Mayor of Tacoma in November. Merritt is known to Tacomans as a community activist who has sat on numerous local committees and boards including the Hillside development council and the Downtown Area Revitalization Task Force (DART).
Jim’s company, Merritt Arch PLLC, has been involved in many Tacoma developments including the Convention Center, the Rialto and the Foss Waterway.
Now, Jim has set his sights on developing the city of Tacoma as Mayor. He announced his candidacy in January of this year and is working on a campaign of uniting the city.

Melonites Chris Van Vechten and Electric Elliot sat down with Jim, at his offices above The Swiss, to learn more about one of Tacoma’s mayoral candidates and his plans for the City of Destiny.

Excellent interview with the next Mayor of Tacoma! Jim has worked all his life to be the person that Tacoma needs! Chris and Electric did a wonderful interview!

I have known Jim Merritt since grade school. He is truely the quality man he seems to be. He will go down in history as the best Mayor Tacoma has ever had. He will truely make Tacoma a city where all people will feel at home.

For years and years Tacoma leaders and their staff have done what they want. We the voter turn issues down at the ballot or at meetings. The city leaders go right ahead and go around our wishes. That is why there is no trust or support for anything from its citizens. For the last four to five years our city has been run with the top down approach (city leaders and staff). Sure they let us have committees and they show us their plan but they do what they want even when we have the signatures against the project.JIM MERRITT is a bottoms up (citizens)kind of man. He is and always has been. Vote for him and you will not EVER be sorry.
