School Board to Film Meetings, Finally
You heard right, Melonites, thanks to your support, and the work of Chris Van Vechten, the Tacoma School Board will finally be recording their meetings. School Board member Kurt Miller confirmed this yesterday saying that the board voted to approve the filming of their meetings, but noted that for the moment they will not be recorded live. There is no word on when recording will start and where exactly they will be broadcasted from, but The Melon is arranging to speak with Mr. Miller about the good news.
If you recall, The Melon began an 6 month campaign convincing the school board to film their meetings by going to meeting and filming it ourselves. This culminated in some wonderful speeches by brilliant orators. I guess our hard work helped the school board to see the light.
