It’s finally time to announce my latest, greatest and formerly ultra secretive project/collaboration, minutaur.com. Initially conceived by my father in a rare moment of inspiration nearly a decade ago, Minutaur has been in development for over two years and soft launched last week.

Minutaur is the first global community based on time – a network built on the specific and important times in our lives.  Minutaur is part social network, part community bulletin-board, but primarily a way to celebrate and promote individuality through unique moments in time.

As it mentions in the video, when you sign up with Minutaur, you receive a free, completely unique, moment in time. This moment, as well as all moments, has it’s own profile which includes a place to write more information about your moment, a place to upload a picture, or you can even link to a youtube video which will be embedded in your moment profile. What’s more is you completely, 100% OWN that moment in time. Sure, own is a relative word, but on Minutaur, that moment is all yours to do whatever you want with it. No one else will have your moment in time and any subsequent moments in time that you purchase.

Want to honor your mom or grandmother on mother’s day or give someone a unique way to celebrate his or her birthday? On Minutaur you can buy your friend’s and family actual moments in time.

Celebrate Time, With Your Friends

Yes, we’re actually selling time. But there’s more. Minutaur has all of the features a social network – make friends and create a profile with all of your information; comment on moments, profiles and even transfer moments to friends.  No, Minutaur.com is not trying to be the next facebook, myspace, or facespace, in fact, we hope to create more integration with those great outlets in the future. Rather, Minutaur is a unique outlet in itself in that, instead of focusing on connections through friendships (or booty calls), Minutaur focuses on connections through something that unites us all, the moments in our life: time itself. Groundbreaking Features

Beyond owning and sharing moments in time, Minutaur has a plethora of exciting features. Nestled into our homepage is one of our flagship features, the minutwheel. The minutwheel is home to our Big Time sponsors as well as live ticking, moment machine which displays member moments in real time. When a member moment comes up, so will his or her message to the world and image or video which will promptly begin playing for an entire minute.

This foundational aspect of Minutaur is what makes it so outstanding. By using time as a connection medium, Minutaur presents new, user submitted content every single minute (in the past, present, or future). Do you have a message you want the world to see? A video that just needs to be watched? Celerbrate and share, one moment at a time.

Big Time & Multi-Moments

In addition to regular minute by minute moments, Minutaur offers other ways to travel through time. If you wanted say, 3pm at every day to be Nicholas Cage O’clock then at 3pm every single day for the year of your purchase, 3pm will show up as Nicholas Cage O’clock on the minutwheel. If you wanted to block out 15 minutes of a day to make sure you message gets across, you can with Multi-Moments, which are currently available for purchase by request.

Minutaur also offers Big Time like the sponsorship of an entire year, month, season or even day of the week. So, if you or your company wants to sponsor the year 2009 or Friday’s, then by golly, you can.  On the Big Time section our the Minutwheel (above the rotating moment machine), you or your company’s image with a direct hyperlink will be displayed for the entire year of 2009 or every Friday for an entire year. You will own 2009. You will own Friday. How many people can say that?
